Role Objective
The Solution Design professional will support the development of data-driven warehouse and logistics solutions for client requirements. The role involves Excel based modelling, layout planning, cost analysis, and solution conceptualization to enable efficient and profitable contract logistics operations.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop solution models and cost simulations using advanced Excel to support new business opportunities and operational improvements.
• Design warehouse layouts and process flows aligned with client requirements, throughput, and space optimization.
• Support creation of operational proposals, solution decks, and commercials.
• Perform basic financial analysis including margin calculations, GP analysis, and cost modelling.
• Understand and apply unit economics including direct cost, indirect cost, fixed vs variable cost structures.
• Assist in creating capacity planning models, manpower planning, and productivity assumptions.
• Work closely with operations, business development, engineering, and finance teams to build scalable solutions.
• Support preparation of client presentations, RFQs, and solution documentation.
• Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvement through analytical thinking.
• Create basic 3D layouts or visualization models (good to have). Key Skills & Competencies
• Advanced Excel Modelling (mandatory) – formulas, data modelling, scenario analysis.
• Warehouse layout design and process understanding.
• Strong analytical thinking, logical reasoning, and problem-solving ability.
• Understanding of profitability metrics:
- Margin, GP
- Direct vs Indirect Cost
- Fixed vs Variable Cost
- Unit Economics
• Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
• Ability to translate business requirements into structured solution frameworks.
Preferred Technical Exposure
• Warehouse operations / contract logistics / supply chain processes.
• Exposure to AutoCAD, SketchUp, or any 3D modelling tool (optional but preferred).
• Knowledge of productivity modelling or engineering concepts is an advantage.
Key Success Metrics
• Accuracy of solution models and costing assumptions.
• Quality of layout designs and operational feasibility.
• Timely support to business bids and RFQ submissions.
• Improvement in solution profitability and efficiency.
